Cyber Security

Modern business demands IT systems and data to be always available from any device or location, meaning protection against cyber attacks and threats is a must.

Cyber Security and IT Security is also increasingly linked to business risk, compliance and process. Taking an ad-hoc approach to cyber security to protect your IT infrastructure is not an effective solution.

CMI can put in place the appropriate, well planned, security measures to protect your business.

Please don't think you are not a target

43% of Cyber Attacks are on SMB's

How does this happen? When your employees use their work email on third party websites, for example accountancy software, CRM systems or social media, it makes your organisation vulnerable to a breach. This is because if the organisation storing your email address and/or password is hacked, criminals can obtain your data and sell it on the Dark Web. 81% of breaches use stolen or weak passwords to gain access.

What is the Dark Web? The Dark Web is made up of digital communities within the Internet, and while there are legitimate purposes to the Dark Web, it is estimated that over 50% of all sites on the Dark Web are used for criminal activities, including the sales of your organisation email and password. Our Dark Web Monitoring service detects if your credentials are exposed and if you are at risk so you can take action.

We take security seriously

CMI is ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus Certified

CMI has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. These international standards specify requirements for an organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS).

ISO 27001:2013 certification is awarded to organisations who demonstrate that their ISMS provides a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information such as financial details, intellectual property and third-party data.

The accreditation helps businesses monitor and manage quality across the business, create satisfied clients and employees, and continually improve. Read more here.

CMI-ISO-Logos Cyber Essentials Plus

CMI has also achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification and we highly recommend Cyber Essentials Certification for businesses. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that requires the implementation of baseline controls across 5 key IT areas. When done correctly, it can prevent around 80% of cyber attacks. CMI will work with you to implement the necessary IT changes, processes and controls and guide you through successful Cyber Essentials certification. Read more and start the process here.

Cyber Essentials Certification will demonstrate to clients, suppliers and insurers that your business has taken essential precautions to secure against the majority of cyber risks. It will also reduce insurance premiums and allow your organisation to successfully tender for government contracts. Here you can read a recent report by the government UK cyber security: the role of insurance in managing and mitigating the risk and the UK Government’s procurement policy notice.
